THE SEKHMET PENDANT by Lady Sekhmet
The story of the creation of the Sekhmet Pendant is a
story about the action of synchronicity. Immediately after I had finished The Face of Sekhmet using the geometry of the square root of five
and phi, an opportunity appeared to have it cast as a pendant.
Late in the summer of 1998, a man contacted me through the internet and introduced himself as a devotee of Sekhmet. He also claimed to be a follower of the Fifth Way and requested my husband and I complete his instruction. Unlike other individuals who have contacted us throughout the years, Michael Morgan brought with him something which was guaranteed to peak my interest--one of my original 108 Sekhmet talismans! He had indeed been taught by a Fifth Way Adept, now a Priestess of Hathor.
So it was that Michael became a part of our circle. As our acquaintence flowered into a friendship, Michael offered his services as a goldsmith and introduced me to his mentor, Bob Putnam, a master craftsman with 13 years as a jeweler "at the bench."
And so it was, that Bob Putnam recreated the geometry Sekhmet gave me in wax and made a beautiful casting of it. Just as Sekhmet had guided me in other endeavors, I felt her influence with this particular pendant. The very proportions of the piece lent themselves easily towards an indwelling of Sekhmet's energy.

THE SYMBOLOGY OF THE SEKHMET PENDANT/AMULET
Power has a leonine face. Many have related to power as an exclusively male domain while the great power of the feminine often goes unrecognised. People need to consciously relate to power & strength as coming from the heart of the lioness, Sekhmet, our Great fiery sun in the body of Nuit.
Sekhmet, unusual in the fact that She is the one of the only feminine goddesses associated with the sun, is depicted with Her solar orb and cobra. Within Her very name (spelled SKHMT in Egyptian) is SKHM, "power." Sekhmet is the primordial Fire of the Universe who lends Her influence at this time to balance the misuse of power on earth.
The pendant may also be related to as a lion's head encircled by a radiant halo. The lion, King of Beasts, when associated with the sun represents the fiery principle as well as law, justice, courage, strength, fortitude and power. When the lion symbol is associated with the moon falls into the realm of instinct.
Leonine lunar symbols are also associated with virgin warrior goddesses. Sitting upon the lion's crown is a serpent, an ancient symbol of feminine wisdom. The snake signifies primordial instinctual nature, the upsurging life-force and kundalini. The serpent always accompanies images of the Great Mother yet functions as both solar/lunar and male/female symbols.
So both images of power are contained within the Sekhmet Pendant which is based upon the double square and phi proportions. This means that whoever wears this pendant of power is balancing the male/female attributes within themselves. The keys are balance, strength and the wise use of power.
All Sekhmet Pendants are produced with individual care.
As a part of the charm, the Sekhmet pendant can be ritually imbued with the energy signature of Sekhmet, thereby making it a Sekhmet Amulet. There is no extra charge for this extra charge.
